Magnolia Village Council
Special Meeting July 22, 2019
A Special Meeting of Magnolia Village Council was called to order on July 22 nd , 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at Magnolia Village Hall by Mayor Robert Leach. Members present were Jim Hunter, Jim Miller, Grant Downes, Claudia Rogers, Jessica Miller and Eric White. Fiscal Officer Joe Marcoaldi was on vacation.
The purpose of this meeting we received the Certificate of Estimated Property Tax Revenue from the Stark County Auditor’s Office for the renewal of the 2.5 mill Fire Levy. The valuation has been calculated at $29,971.00. The filing date for the levy is August 7th , 2019. Rogers moved and Miller seconded to approve Resolution #7-019-3 Resolution On Submission Of A Question Of A Renewal Of A 2.5 Mill Tax Levy for 5 years, commencing 2020. All ayes.
Discussed the Fire Department Building Fund Loan. Clevenger discovered that payments have not been made to the Bank of Magnolia since October 30th , 2018. Council agreed to pay $30,000.00 plus interest on this loan 7/30/2019. Clevenger also has been sent reports from Stark and Carroll County Auditor’s for funds the Village has received in the year 2019 trying to make sure they have been receipted into the correct funds. So far, many corrections have been made for the months of April-June.
Council Discussed the possibility of putting a levy on for the street repairs when the levy for the New Fire Department is completed. Will discuss further on a later date.
