Regular Meeting January 9, 2019

The regular meeting of Magnolia Village Council was called to order January 9th, at 7:00 PM at the Magnolia Village Hall by Mayor Leach. All council members were present.

Reorganization
Council readopted its rules.
Standing Committees were appointed by Mayor Leach:
 Finance: Jim Miller Chairperson
 Safety: Jim Hunter Chairperson
 Streets and Alleys: Grant Downes Chairperson
 Utilities: Jessica Miller Chairperson
 Cemetery: Claudia Rogers Chairperson
 Parks and Public Buildings: Eric White Chairperson
Councilperson Jim Miller was elected President pro tempore.
Mayor Leach was appointed to the Stark County Regional Planning Commission and Council person Grant Downes was appointed to the Carroll County Regional Planning Commission.

Mayor Leach appointed the following officials for 2019:

Zoning Inspector: Alan Tozzi
Cemetery Clerk: Tim Costello
Disaster Services Director and Fire Safety Officer: Donnie Nicholson, Jr.
Street Commissioner: Jeff Hager
Representative to SCOG: Mayor Leach with Jeff Hager Alternate
Member of the Records Commission: Janet Rogers
Representative to QUAD: Jerry Schilling

Council set the 7:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month as its regular meeting time at the Village Hall.

In other business council learned that there is a balance in all funds of
$317,879.00 in all funds.
The police department spent 279.5 hours in Magnolia and 145 hours in East Sparta during December.
Authorized $11,498.75 in bills to be paid.
